2021 Skills Academy

April 19 - June 10

LCVC offers a co-ed Skills Academy aimed at those players who want to learn volleyball and improve their skills without overnight travel to tournaments.

The Skills Academy has two programs:

- Elementary School (grades 2nd-5th)

- Middle School (grades 6th-8th)

Families can choose from participating in our Hilton Head Island or Bluffton site.


Elementary School (Grades 2-5)

  • 8-week program of weekly practices - no competition. This program is designed to teach participants volleyball skills. 
  • Includes t-shirt, volleylite ball
  • Cost- $140 plus a $5 USAV Palmetto Region Membership for insurance coverage.

Option 1: Mondays at River Ridge Academy (Bluffton) 5:30-7:00 

Option 2: Thursday at Hilton Head Island Rec. Center 6:00-7:30


Middle School (Grades 6-8)

  • 8-week program includes weekly practices and 5 volleyball matches. 
  • Includes t-shirt and volleyball
  • Cost- $250 plus $5 USAV Palmetto Region League Membership for Insurance Coverage

Option 1:  Mondays at River Ridge Academy (Bluffton) 5:30-7:00

Option 2:  Mondays at River Ridge Academy (Bluffton) 7:00-8:30

Option 3:  Tuesdays at Hilton Head Island Rec. Center 6:00-7:30

Volleyball matches for the middle school division will begin during week 4 of the program.  Weekly practices will continue, and participants will compete in weekly matches taking place on Wednesdays at RRA beginning at 5:30 or 7:00, or Thursdays at HHI Rec. Center beginning at 6:00.   The match schedule and location for each team will be published following week 2.  


Registration Process

Step 1:  Create a Sports Engine Parent Account (How to Video).

Step 2:  Purchase a Palmetto Region League Membership for your son/daughter.

Step 3:  Once you have your son/daughter's Palmetto Region USAV membership number, complete the Low Country Volleyball Club Registration.

Step 4:  Following registration, within 24 hours you will receive an email to accept the Low Country Volleyball Club season assignment.  Please ensure you use the same email address for your Sports Engine account and Low Country registration.


Need-based scholarships are available to cover up to 50% of Skills Academy fees.  Please email to request the application prior to completing the Low Country registration (step 3 above).   LCVC uses the federal poverty guidelines to calculate percentage of poverty level to award scholarships .
